Screw Types and Areas of Use

1-) Wood Screw :
Chipboard Screw
It is the most commonly used screw type in furniture.

Commonly used lengths: 13,16,18,20,25,30,40,45,50 mm
Shape : Wide, toothed structure.
Area of Use : Designed to join wooden pieces. Generally, it has wide teeth and is long.

2-) Phillips Screw
:

Shape : Star-shaped, usually four-sided.
Area of Use : It is widely used for general purpose screwing operations. It is especially common in automotive and electronic devices.

3-)Slotted Screw :

Shape : Straight, with a single slit.
Area of Use : Used in simple and old screwing operations. However, the possibility of the screwdriver slipping is higher while screwing.

4-)Torx Screw (Internal Star Screw) :

Shape : Star-shaped, but with more corners (usually hexagonal).
Area of Use : Used in applications requiring high torque. Common in electronics, automotive and some industrial applications.

5-) Internal Phillips Screw (Allen Screw) :

Shape : There is a hexagonal cavity inside.
Area of Use : Generally used in metal works and some furniture assembly. Suitable for high torque applications.

6-) Headless Screw (Set Screw) :

Shape : Headless, usually with an internal torque head.
Area of Use : It is used in various machines, especially to ensure that rotating parts remain in place.

7-) Self-Tapping Screw :

Shape : Usually has fine threads and can be screwed into metal or plastic without needing to drill a hole.
Area of Use : Suitable for thin metal sheets or plastic parts.

8-) Self-Drilling Screw :

Shape : It has a drill-like tip at the tip.
Area of Use : It can be used on metal, wood and some plastic materials without the need for pre-drilling holes.

9-) Machine Screw :

Shape : Usually finer serrated and flat-tipped.
Area of Use : Used in metal and some plastic materials. Usually used with nuts.

10-) Concrete Screw

Area of Use : Used on concrete, brick or stone walls. Generally used in places where holes have been previously drilled.

11-) Hex Head Screw
:

Shape : It has a hexagonal head structure.
Area of Use : Generally used in applications requiring greater torque. Tightened with a wrench.

12-) Cover Screw
:

Shape : The head part is aesthetically designed and can be closed with a lid.
Area of Use : Generally used for decorative purposes and in closed areas.
